Thank you for choosing Mastering Tutors. The following terms and conditions outline the details on tutorial class arrangements and policies.
1. Class Arrangement
1.1 Our tutor will tutor the student/s in the desired subject on the mutually agreed day/s and timeslot in accordance with the client’s and company’s specifications. The tutor shall conduct professional classes in an efficient manner appropriate to the student’s level and requirements in order to achieve the necessary learning goals.
2. Payment Policy
2.1 In accordance with a prior verbal agreement and figure stated in the invoice, the first trial class and subsequent class fees will be standardized. The parent/payee will prepay the full figure for classes taking place within the subsequent month through bank transfer, FPS, cheque or Payme to the account stated in the official invoice issued by the company employee.
3. Lesson Cancellation/Termination Policy
3.1 In the event of the Tutor being unable to fulfil his/her obligations due to ill health or other incapacity or cause beyond his/her control, and suitable proof is provided, Mastering Tutors shall notify the student/parent by telephone/ text or email at the earliest possible opportunity, and if possible, at least 24 hours before any lesson is due to be given. In this event, the class will be cancelled, and the payment amount will be deducted for one lesson in the following Month. Alternatively, a makeup lesson can be arranged within the same month to account for this missing class and prepayment.
3.2 In the event that the student is unable to have the class due to ill health or other incapacity or cause beyond his/her control, the student/parent is required to notify the student/parent by telephone at the earliest possible opportunity, and if possible, at least 24 hours before any lesson is due to be given. In this event, the class will be
cancelled. The parent may request a makeup lesson within the same month to account for the missed class.
3.3 If the payee/ parent cancels class during, or within 1 hour prior to the scheduled class time without a suitable reason, the payee will not be eligible for a makeup class or reimbursement.
3.4 All tutors are obliged to inform Mastering Tutors at least one month in advance if they wish to discontinue with the classes for any reason. If they were to discontinue/leave for any reason out of their control at any time during the paid month, a suitable substitute teacher may be found to cover the remaining classes. In the event one cannot be found the amount covering the remaining classes will be refunded.
3.5 In the event of a late start to the class: if the teacher arrives late, the teacher will be obliged to continue the lesson from the time of their arrival for the agreed length of time as originally agreed. Alternatively, the payee may request the missed time to be added to the length of another class or be reimbursed the value of the missing time as per the hourly rate calculation. If the student has arrived late, the teacher need only teach the length of the class for the remainder of the given time after the originally scheduled class start time.
4. Confidentiality
4.1 All tutor profiles and CVs are considered private information and should not be posted on mass media or public groups by the client. In the case that, the parent/student wishes to recommend our tutor to their family/friends they must reach out to Mastering Tutors directly.
